New Twist on Old Scam Dwayne Armstrong
http://www.CanuckHomeBiz.comOne of the longest running work at home scams has a brand new twist, but it's truly the same old game. Called a pyramid scheme, the main criteria that sets it apart from legitimate multi level marketing businesses is that the primary revenue is not derived by selling a product but by bringing others onboard. The U.S. federal law says that if recruiting others is the primary means of earning money in a multi-level marketing venture, it is a pyramid scheme and as such one of the illegal work at home scams.
The new twist to this oldest of work at home scams takes the game online. These con artists ask would-be entrepreneurs to pay a small fee for the opportunity to have their own Web site, built in just a few quick minutes and with products that are already available for sale and loaded to the site. While at first glance it doesn't seem like a work at home scam, and many people who think there's a possibility it is go ahead and plunk down their money because the fee is small enough to be low risk.
The reason this dot con joins the ranks of work at home scams is because the market is overly saturated and sales won't be plentiful, no one has any protected territory so the entrepreneur is competing with everyone else that fell for the same work at home scam, the product or products may not exist or may be so low quality that complaints and returns are the norm and repeat customers non-existent. The other issue is that these work at home scam artists lead business owners to believe that that Web site will draw customers like flies when in fact bringing consumers to the site requires time consuming and often costly search engine optimization, advertising and affiliation efforts. None of which the potential owner ever hears from the vendor of the work at home scams.
These work at home scams offer one potentially lucrative product - the sale to others of the same work at home scam procedure. That's the primary problem with this illegal Internet venture - in order for an entrepreneur to have any hope of at least recouping what she or he put into it she must become part of the work at home scam.
